Get your photos into Google Photos
Photos where you've, perhaps, got your eyes closed are smartly not shown. Vertical photos that are normally displayed with black bars on the left and right on other photo frames aren't displayed on their own. Instead, Google again uses machine learning to find two related vertical photos from the album and display them side by side -- something I've never seen on any other digital photo frames. How to turn a Google Home Hub into a digital photo frame
So you might need to link your Google account again from scratch after the factory reset, just like when you first bought the device. The next step is to enable the Google Nest Hub to play the photos from your favorites via the Photo Frame feature. But users who experienced the Photo Frame issue with their Google Nest Hub have come to a conclusion that setting the favorites folder to play on the display works for many. The displayed photos were completely random photos from that album that repeatedly showed up and the rest were not being displayed at all.

Personal Photo Data adds marking to the display that explains what album the photo came from and who it belongs to (if you’re sharing your Google Photos). The Hub has a floating design, with the 7-inch display hovering slightly in front of its lower half, where the speaker is housed. I have hundreds of video clips of my kids that I’d love to see on this screen, even if they were just silent animations, but I can’t do that without casting them to it from my phone. The Home Hub’s software is smart enough to present two vertically oriented photos side by side, instead of cropping them awkwardly. It also cleverly groups images of the same person together when it displays them. Although the display might be the main draw, the Home Hub functions as a speaker too.
Essentially, the feature is used to pick out the favorite photos from your vast list of photos in order to save them as a separate album for later viewing. When you have photos stored or saved in Google Photos, you’ll be able to access them on any Google smart device with a screen. The Home Hub is also part of Google's larger strategy to make its virtual assistant infinitely more useful, and also, to get its tech into every facet of your life that it can. For watching video, the Hub’s display looks just as great as it does with photos, and the sound quality from the single speaker is sufficient. The same goes for the voice responses from Google Assistant, podcasts, or other vocal-based audio. The sound is flat, thin, and just unpleasant to listen to, particularly when you raise the volume past 50 percent.
